ACG Mine Seismicity Downloads

Downloadable reports and resources from the ACG:

Multimedia: Working Safely in Active Ground Conditions (2000)
  • Size: 6.6 Mb (Download)
Description: This is a 50 slide workforce training presentation discussing issues associated with working in high stress and active ground conditions. A detailed presenters guide is also included with detailed comments and suggestions for each of the slides.

Paper: Seismic Monitoring in Mines – Old Technology – New Applications (2003)
  • Size: 0.9 Mb (Download)
Description: This techical paper suggests some new techniques for getting more information from seismic monitoring data.

Report: Mining-Induced Seismicity in Underground, Mechanised, Hardrock Mines - Results of a World Wide Survey (2004)
  • Size: 8 Mb (Download)
Description: This report discusses the results of a detailed survey of mine seismicity experiences in 79 underground, mechanised, hardrock mines from 12 countries. A seismic hazard scale is introduced which can be used to estimate the relative level of seismicity in a mine, without the use of a seismic system. The report identifies a number of factors conducive to seismicity in mines and disspells some of the paradigms about mine seismicity.

Report: Seismic Hazard Mapping with MS-RAP Version 3 (2005)
  • Size: 2.8 Mb (Download)
Description: A promotional report discussing the features of MS-RAP Version 3.1 and seismic data analysis in mines.

Report: Seishaz - An Artificial Neural Network for Estimating Seismic Hazard (2005)
  • Size: 3 Mb (Download)
Description: An artificial neural network (ANN) was trained to forecast seismic hazard using the data collected in the mine seismicity survey. This download contains an executable version of the ANN and a report discussing the application of the program.
